General Donates Dust Collector to Operation Tiny Home

Over the course of our 75-year history, General has always been proud to give back to those in need by supporting various nonprofit organizations. We recently had the opportunity to work with Operation Tiny Home, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit that helps people struggling with severe housing instability maintain a life of dignity through custom, high-quality tiny housing solutions and empowerment training programs. To help support Operation Tiny Home’s mission, we donated one of our 3 HP Dust Collectors, which will keep the organization’s warehouse and tools free of sawdust as they construct homes.

One of our newer products, the 3 HP Dust Collector is designed to optimize both results and ease of use. It’s equipped with a dual-action AutoSwitch, where the user can plug in their machine and the Dust Collector will conveniently turn on and off in sync with the machine. This eliminates the common problem of forgetting to turn on the collector and ending up with an abundance of dust in the workshop—which is not only a hassle to clean up, but also a threat to health and safety. Our new Dust Collectors were highlighted by Woodshop News in November 2020.

Other features of the 3 HP Dust Collector include:

  • Convenient “Snap Ring” on a lower collection bag
  • Heavy-duty motor design with a continuous duty rating for industrial applications
  • Totally enclosed, fan-cooled, permanently lubricated motor, with a heavy-duty base mounted on four swivel casters for maximum mobility and stability. The motor is also equipped with a precision “Spark Free” impeller for smooth operation, minimal noise, and a reduced risk of sparking.
  • 2-micron filter bags
  • Safety switch with key to prevent the unit from being started when the key is removed
  • Heavy-duty collection bags made from extra-thick, transparent, recyclable plastic

With their new 3 HP Dust Collector in use, Operation Tiny Home will be able to ensure a clean, healthy work environment for the volunteers and employees who drive the organization’s mission of providing quality housing solutions for those in need, including veterans, Native Americans, and those affected by natural disasters.
